The 7-Day Tea Classic Club

Ten minutes for yourself, at the end of the day

7 days running · 8 p.m. each evening · 20 seats per group

About the next group: the club runs in batches of 20, and each one opens when it fills — so no fixed date is posted here. Save this page, or watch our official account "茶语书香慢生活"; I'll post there when a new group opens.

Sound familiar?

The night you scrolled to 12:30

Is there a night like this — the kids asleep, the dishes done, you sink into the sofa and say: ten minutes of scrolling, then bed.

One video after another. When you surface, it's 12:30. You couldn't say what you watched, and something still feels empty.

You've thought about reading, too. You open Lu Yu's Classic of Tea, and the first line — "Tea is a noble tree of the south" — you know every word. You close the book, and not one of them landed.

Where I want to take you

Seven days later, your evening looks like this

Boil a kettle, pinch some tea, and hear me turn a line written twelve hundred years ago into your life today.

Nothing to memorize, no tea expertise, no notes. Ten minutes a day. On the tired days, pull out one small card, brew a cup — and that's your ten minutes.

By day 7 you'll hold 7 "tea word cards" — each with one line from the original, one plain-language reading, and one small tea habit you can use that evening. Save them on your phone, or print them.

Our Seven Days

One line of the Classic each day

Day 1

What kind of person takes root anywhere

茶者,南方之嘉木也

"Tea is a noble tree of the south." Why some people can put down roots wherever they go — starting from a single tea tree.

Day 2

The pruned middle years

伐而掇之

A tea tree must have old branches cut away to bud again. The things you've let go of by midlife — they count too.

Day 3

What temper suits the drinker

为饮,最宜精行俭德之人

Lu Yu said tea suits one kind of person best. Let's see if it's you.

Day 4

Nine hardships in one cup

茶有九难

From picking to brewing there are nine hurdles. So it is with life — the hard parts hide in small things.

Day 5

Mountain water over river water

其水,用山水上,江水中,井水下

Same tea, different water, different taste. You can test this one tonight.

Day 6

Tea is frugal — good tea isn't about price

茶性俭,不宜广

Lu Yu urged: less, but finer. It works for buying tea, and for living.

Day 7

Where this cup comes from

Day seven — not from the Classic

I'll tell you about my dad, who has fired tea in the mountains for fifty years. This cup has a provenance.

Practicalities

What you'll get

Daily

One voice note + one card

A 3-minute voice note and a tea word card each day; 7 cards by day 7. Save them, print them.

Time

Posted at 8 p.m.

Seven days at 8 p.m. each night. Busy that evening? Catch up later — the voice notes stay forever.

Finishing

What counts as done

Brew tea 3 times and reply 3 times in the 7 days — that's a graduation. No exam, no roll call, no certificate.

Boundaries

What this is not

Not a tea ceremony course (no tasting exams, no certificates). Not a book club (you're not asked to finish the original). And no selling — the tea is on us.

Can't wait for the next cohort? Listen first

Our reading channel lives on Ximalaya (a Chinese audio platform): 「茶语书香读书会」 — books I personally love, mostly Chinese classics: the Classic of Tea, the Analects, Wang Yangming. Five to ten minutes a day, tea at hand, a book in your ears. Get a feel for the voice and the pace, and join when it suits you.

Before You Sign Up

For you — or not yet

Come if you're this person

· Your day belongs to work and family; the evening leaves you one hour that's yours
· You've tried reading and couldn't keep it up — you want a no-pressure way to start again
· You drink tea, or want to — you can't tell an oolong from a black, and that's fine. You just want it to feel good

× Wait if you're this person

· You want professional tea training or a tea-master certificate — this isn't a course
· You want a "21-day transformation" — all we have is ten minutes and a cup of tea
· You genuinely have no time and plan to "do it later" — the seats are for people who can start this week

Tell me one true thing

"How do you usually spend your evenings?" — that sentence is your ticket in. A short answer is plenty.

I want to know there's a real person on the other side, and to remember what you came carrying.

Join the small group

The night before we start, I'll add you to the group. Twenty people per group — that's all.

It's not manufactured scarcity — I host it alone, and I want to remember every person's sentence.

A small gift of tea — the first 10 people in the group get a sample of the tea my father fired this year with his own hands. Just cover the 9.9 yuan postage. I simply want you to sip while you read — to taste what a sentence from twelve hundred years ago becomes in a cup today.

Slowly is how you arrive faster.
